Writing Prompt 22 Oct., 2014

Writing Prompt:

You are the guest at the wedding of a family member of a good friend. Everything is storybook perfect until the priest proclaims the line, “Should anyone here present know of any reason that this couple should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace.” No one expected what happened next.

Writing Prompts are something new that the QFT staff thought would be fun. They aren’t meant to be long, just something to help get the creative juices flowing. Please feel free to share what you write—somewhere between 3 and 5,000 words—in the comments section below!

  1. This is a great post, Quantum Fairy! It reminds me of Monsters vs. Aliens when Susan is struck by a meteorite or Wreck it Ralph when Calhoun’s wedding is invaded by Cy-bugs who kill the groom. Or even Kill Bill when the whole wedding party is wiped out.

I love that you’ve taken a common story motif, and given it a twist to do something crazy with. From aliens to bugs to death, there are so many options! I look forward to trying out my version of it. Thanks for the prompt!
